This was the ultimate Grand Design. Not the boat, but the
man.
Noah was chosen long before he proved himself. He had made
his decision to be ‘righteous’ and to ‘walk with God’ long before he hammered
in the first nail, long before the first drop of rain fell from the sky.

Today and everyday there will be so much to stop you being ‘blameless’,
but you have a choice, just as Noah did. God has given us the plan and the
resources to walk ‘blameless among the people’, He’s given us the opportunity
to build a life that will rise above the mess we see in the world today. It
will be messy mucking out, it will be smelly, but for those who persevere, who
end up on dry land, there will be the ‘pleasing aroma’ of a future (Genesis
8:21).
Carl says that, ‘Noah
lived in a knife-edge time’ but he had ‘unrelenting
faith, single-minded focus and perseverance.’ Now it’s our turn. We get to
build a life that will enable others to see that Jesus is the one who saves,
that they are welcome on-board. But we will have to be the ones who are walking
with God, in it for the long haul, willing to build God’s Grand Design in our
life today.
What is God asking you to build today? No matter how daft it
might seem, get it done.
